Dr. Kelly Hayes

Dr. Kelly HayesDr. Hayes grew up in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and attended Roanoke Rapids High School where he was his class salutatorian. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for both undergraduate and medical school. During medical school, he was fortunate to be a recipient of the North Carolina Board of Governor’s Medical Scholarship. He did his pediatric residency at the University of Kentucky in Lexington where he was awarded multiple Resident of the Year honors. As an enthusiastic Tar Heel fan, he was elated that UNC won the men’s basketball national championship in his final year at UK. Before joining Pediatric Partners in 2019, he practiced at Granville Primary Care in Oxford, NC for 2 years. He is board certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Hayes enjoys seeing the full spectrum of pediatric patients from newborns to college students. His clinical interests include newborn care, ADHD and asthma. As an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics of UNC School of Medicine, he is able to teach—another interest—medical students.

When Dr. Hayes is not at the office, he is spending time with his wife, Megan, and children, Dominic and Sevy. He enjoys being outside with his family, going to the gym, cooking with his wife, and cheering on the Tar Heels!
