Alexis grew up in Durham, NC and attended Riverside High School. She then attended East Carolina University for her undergraduate degree and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After graduating she moved to Wilmington, NC and worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at New Hanover Regional Medical center for 1.5 years. Alexis then decided to move back to the triangle and worked at UNC Children’s hospital on the Hematology, Oncology, Cardiology, and Bone Marrow Transplant unit (5 children’s). She continued to work on 5 children’s for 3.5 years and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to obtain her Master of Nursing in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Primary care. She was also a clinical instructor, while in school, to BSN and ABSN pediatric nursing students.
Before joining Pediatric Partners in 2022, Alexis worked at a pediatric primary care office in Smithfield for 2 years.
Alexis enjoys seeing a wide variety of patients but specific clinical interests include newborn care and hematology/oncology. She really enjoys continuity of care and loves getting to know families and watching children grow each appointment.
Alexis lives in Raleigh and loves to spend time with her husband, Winston, daughter, Libby and her black lab mix, Boomer. She enjoys the beach, the lake, and loves to try new restaurants in the area!
